Apple's oatmeal and a few other things..

Last night I made a yummy pan of apple crisp..We enjoyed some over tea after supper as a yummy treat..I have not made it for awhile and I knew the girls loved it...Before Megan and Maria went to bed they asked me if I could put some in there lunch..I said sure will.. Boy if that makes them real happy.then this mommy will be real happy then lol..Well this morning I packed there lunches and also gave them each a small dish of apple crisp for after they lunch treat...Well that was great until Maria took out her apple crisp.Durning their lunch time they have a lunchroom monitor..In the classroom watching the children Maria opened her snack(The yummy Apple Crisp) She had a few bites of it then the Lunch monitor said to Maria..Stop eating that and find a healthy snack..Maria told me she almost started to cry and said this is a healthy snack..Its apple crisp and my mommy made it...still she made Maria grab another snack out of her lunch...Boy what's wrong with apple crisp..Guess she didn't like the idea of home bake goods...Well tomorrow for sure we will know whats going on..and know why she didn't like Maria eating Apple crisp.. (Wonder what the Lunch monitor will be telling us tomorrow...

I do know they have a Healthy Eating Challenge this week at school durning morning and afternoon snack.. But come on Apple crisp i s healthy it has apple in it.. Also as well has oatmeal in it..Yes It does have sugar..But I watch how much sugar goes into it...As well as all my other baked goods..No other days they say anything to any of the girls..But its Ok for Tom to have a chocolate bar right after his lunch today....hummmm what's wrong with that nothing....

funny lol

Sorry for my winning tonight it's gotten my undies in a little knot

Well Hope everyone has a great night... I'm off to bed...

Sweet dreams hugs....

Sorry, I gotta agree with the lunch monitor here. Despite how much or little sugar you add and despite it being homemade, it still is considered a dessert and hence the reason it's not found in the fruit section of the supermarket.

As for the chocolate bar it too should have been closed up and put away.

That stinks. I am sure that made your poor daughter quite sad :(

Maybe try making homemade granola bars? Alton Brown has a fantastic recipe on Food network (I make it all the time.)

That is sad that the lunch monitor said something to your daughter. If you put that in her lunch then she can eat it. It is not up to the SCHOOL person telling your daughter something like that! I personally think that is really sad and I would probably say something to the lunch monitor (and they might not like what I said!!!!!).
